A small collection of books, films, and television that have had a significant impact on me, or that I just really like. Recommend me something!
Larry McMurtry
Rich characters and storytelling. All of the books in the series are fantastic.
Rory Stewart
I don't agree with everything Rory Stewart says, but he comes across as knowledgeable, thoughtful, and sincere. I finished this one in a few days and it left me reflecting on optimism, naivety, and the state of modern politics.
Brilliant show. Funny, touching (at times gut-wrenching), and a great soundtrack. One of the greats.
It's rare to find a show that feels genuinely original, but The Bear definitely does. Themes of trauma, family, grief, and ambition, mixed into a love letter for food & Chicago.
Great to see a mainstream show maintain its artistic integrity until the end. A character study of ambition, obsession, grief, and family.
"No, it's necessary." Beautiful.
A true modern western. Justice & brotherhood.
Devastating film about guilt, grief, and forgiveness. Casey Affleck is brilliant.
Captivating from start to finish. Themes of brotherhood and loyalty. Great performances.
"I am Iron Man."
